Prior to joining EY Law in 2015, Péter gained experience as a lawyer in a prestigious international law firm’s M&A, corporate law, capital markets, and financial regulatory teams.
Péter regularly advises clients on M&A transactions with a special focus on regulated industries, including sector-specific and high-complexity transactions (e.g., mergers of sector-specific companies, portfolio transfers, and business transfers). Accordingly, he possesses deep sector-specific knowledge and regulatory expertise. He also has broad experience in preparing and negotiating various types of transfer agreements and implementing complex restructurings.
He has a strong track record of coordinating multi-jurisdictional due diligence exercises and advising clients on a wide range of regulatory issues related to M&A transactions, including compliance and licensing. He has conducted due diligence in various regulated sectors.
Clients also seek Péter’s advice on corporate law matters, from general corporate housekeeping to complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings. In such cases, he has assisted clients with innovative and insightful solutions leveraging EY’s combined synergies.
He has advised on a wide range of FDI, licensing, and regulatory issues related to M&A deals and corporate restructurings.
Péter is also an expert in financial regulatory matters. He has participated in numerous projects related to digital banking and initiatives introducing innovative solutions in the financial sector. Péter is proud to bring innovation to the legal business by using state-of-the-art EY IT solutions as well as tailor-made legal innovations (e.g., creating and implementing new mechanisms for intra-group transfers). He has broad experience in licensing and regulatory issues covering a wide array of legal areas (banking, insurance, investment funds, etc.). He was involved in several projects revising and updating the general terms and conditions and template documentation of major Hungarian banks, including aspects of financial regulatory compliance and consumer protection.
